1/2 MI. KIDS RUN - JULY 26, 8:00pm

Wear your brightest and most colorful outfit to run through multiple glow zones on this half mile course. There will be a prize for the best costume and all participants will receive a ribbon. Must be 10 or younger on the day of the race to participate in the Half Mile Kids Run.

5K GLOW RUN - JULY 26, 9:00pm

Walk, run, cartwheel or dance your way through the Glow Run 5k presented by Hawks Prairie Rotary formally the Grow in the Dark 5K. Wear your best glow in the dark outfit for a chance at a prize. This is a 3 lap, 5k fun run. Each lap  you will recieve one card. Once you recieve 3 cards you can proceed to the finish line and join the Post-Race Party with music by Party Medics DJ and free food, beverages and prizes!

Is there an age limit?

No way! We want people of all ages to get their GLOW on!  Kids

10 and under may choose to participate in the 1/2 mile run or do the

whole 5K. Ages 17 and younger will need to have a parent/legal guardian

sign a waiver before the run.

 

Is this a timed race?

Yes! This race is chip timed by BuDu Racing. But our run is also a great way to get

people off the couch and active so we choose not to focus just on timing, but also on

getting people up, moving and having fun!

 

What is included in my registration?

Participants in the 5k will receive a glow in the dark T-shirt, a "swag bag", a glow stick and lots of fun (Kids Half Mile runners receive a glow in the dark T-shirt and a participation medal). You must register by June 30th to guarantee a T-shirt (this is when we have to place the order for our T-shirts, and we always order extra, but we can't guarantee that we'll have your size if you haven't registered by then).

 

What do I wear to the Grow in the Dark 5K?

We encourage everyone to wear bright white, neon, glow sticks, LED lights or anything else that glows or is black-light reactive. Be creative, there are prizes for costumes!!!

 

How do I get my GLOW on?

There are 4 Glow Zones and 1 Glow Water station along the 5k course.  At every Glow Zone you'll run through a different glow environment. Feeling adventurous? Take a quick detour to get splashed at the Glow Water station.  There will also be an after-race glow party with music by Party Medics DJ and free food and beverages.

 

Will the Glow Water ruin my clothing?

We have found that while the Glow Water washes off of skin easily, it does not wash out of fabric completely. We suggest wearing clothes that you don’t mind staying glow-tastic.  We also suggest that you cover your car seat with an old towel or trash bag just to be safe. Keep in mind that running through the Glow Water station is optional.

 

Can I bring my dog?

Sorry, but we do not allow dogs (or any other animals) at our event. Only registered service animals are allowed.

 

How does registration work?

You can register online until 8:00am on July 24, 2019 (this is the way to go since you save money) or you can register on-site the day of the event starting at 7pm. There will be separate lines for "Pre-Registered" and "Day-Of" registration. If you registered online, you will pick up your T-shirt and swag bag when you check in on the day of the race.

 

Can someone else pick up my packet for me?

We will allow someone else to pick-up your bib & swag for you but  they will need to bring a Waiver Form that has been signed by you in order to do so.

 

Are strollers allowed?

Sorry, no strollers are allowed. The course is narrow in places and has some tight corners.

 

Do you charge for parking?

Parking is FREE!

 

Do you dontate to a charity?

Yes, we do! This event is put on by the Hawks Prairie Rotary Club, and all profits go to local groups including Homeless Backpacks, Boys & Girls Club and others.

 

Do you offer refunds?

Due to the planning and preparation that goes into this event we do not offer refunds. Please make sure that you are able to attend before you register.
